KATHMANDU — Leader Bishwa Prakash Sharma has registered the sole candidacy for the post of Senior Vice President in the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. The Election Committee confirmed that only Sharma’s nomination was filed for the post during the candidate registration on Tuesday.
The nomination process was conducted from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday in Kathmandu. With no other candidates contesting for the position within the stipulated time, Sharma is set to be elected unopposed. However, the Election Committee will make an official announcement only after completing the mandatory procedures for candidate withdrawal and complaints.
According to the schedule, voting to elect the new leadership of the Nepali Congress will take place on Thursday. Nomination registrations for other key posts saw enthusiastic participation at the convention venue.
