Birtamode — Injured individuals of the Gen-Z movement will now receive a 50 percent discount on fare rates for both local and long-distance public transportation.
The decision implements Clause 8 of the “Integrated Package for Rehabilitation, Livelihood, and Social Protection for Families of Martyrs and Injured of the Gen-Z Movement,” which was approved by the Cabinet of the Government of Nepal on July 2 (Ashaad 18).
An agreement to enforce the 50% discount for holders of the official “Injured Identity Card” was reached on October 7 (Asoj 21) during a meeting involving security agencies, the Transport Management Office in Birtamode, transport operators, and other key stakeholders.
Following the decision, the Transport Management Office in Birtamode, Jhapa, has been tasked with coordinating and facilitating the implementation. This measure is expected to provide significant relief to the injured during public travel.
